1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the website located at mithril.law (the “Site”) and any services provided by Mithril Law (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Site.
2. Legal Services
Mithril Law is a law firm licensed to practice in Ontario, Canada. The information on this Site is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice.
A solicitor-client relationship is not created by your use of this Site or by submitting an intake form. A solicitor-client relationship is only established when we have agreed to act on your behalf and a retainer agreement has been signed by both parties.
3. Self-Service Tools
Certain tools on the Site (such as the Small Claims Kit) provide document generation and legal information for self-represented litigants. These tools are provided as-is and do not constitute legal advice. The documents generated are templates and should be reviewed before filing.
We make no guarantee that documents generated by self-service tools will be accepted by any court or tribunal, or that they will achieve a particular outcome.
4. User Accounts
To access certain features of the Site, you may be required to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate.
5. Confidentiality
Information submitted through intake forms and the client portal is treated as confidential. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data. For details on how we handle your information, please see our Privacy Policy.
6. Fees and Payment
Our fee structure is described on our Pricing page. Specific fees for your matter will be set out in your retainer agreement. All fees are in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated.
Payments processed through the Site are handled by third-party payment processors. We do not store your credit card information directly.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, and software — is the property of Mithril Law or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without our written consent.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mithril Law shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or services. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
